Women’s World Car Of The Year Award Winner: Jaguar XF


The Jaguar XF is the winner of the first edition of the new contest, Women’s World Car of the Year, organized at London by a group of eight international magazines. 21 models have been tested, and the aspects that counted the most to name the winner were the children safety, the design of the car, the easiness of driving, the colors available for the car and, of course, the safety all-round. Beside the Women’s World Car of the Year award, Jaguar XF also won the Luxury Car distinction, beating opponents like Audi A6.
The the Family Car category, Volvo XC60 was elected as winner, this one beating cars like Honda Accord. The Sports Car award was given to Audi TTS, which “stole” the victory from the sporty Mazda MX-5. Winner at the Economy Car category was Volkswagen Golf diesel, leaving the Ford Fiesta Behind

Concept car designer Liviu Tudoran has designed an eco-friendly electric car for Peugeot that complements the Lion image that we see in the car brand’s logo. The car, dubbed the Peugeot Leonin, is based on an electric engine mounted in the back of the car which is powered by a battery supply unit that rests under the front hood.

Fisker Karma Hybrid Sports Car

Fisker Karma is a hybrid sports car with sleek and luxury design. This environmentally friendly car is powered by Q-Drive, a system developed by Quantum Technologies that combines a four-cylinder engine sending power to a generator to propel the four-door sedan. Fisker claims that Karma can perform at 0-60 mph in 6 seconds, top speed of 125 mph, pretty cool for a hybrid car . Fisker Karma has two different modes, “Stealth Drive” which is a pure electric mode and “Sports Mode” which integrates the four-banger for peak performance, and according to Fisker, this will make the Karma sound like a combination of a jet fighter and an F1 car.
